Eirini Eleni Tsiropoulou

Eirini Eleni Tsiropoulou’s interest in engineering was inspired by her older brother and cultivated by remarkable advisors who guided her every step of the way.

“The mentorship and expertise I received helped shape my research interests and led me to the field I am passionate about today,” Tsiropoulou says.

Tsiropoulou is now taking her passion to the next level as an associate professor in the School of Electrical, Computer and Energy Engineering, part of the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University. She chose to join ASU because of its structured, research-intensive and ambitious environment.

“The School of Electrical, Computer and Energy Engineering is renowned for its commitment to innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration and fostering a supportive atmosphere for cutting-edge research under strong leadership,” Tsiropoulou says. “The university’s vision for the future of engineering education and research is inspiring, and I am excited to be part of a community dedicated to making significant contributions to the field.”

She is eager to explore collaborative opportunities in wireless communications, energy and power systems and decision-making in complex systems.

“The chance to work with colleagues from diverse fields to develop innovative solutions for complex engineering challenges is particularly appealing,” she says. “I am also enthusiastic about mentoring students and involving them in research projects while fostering their growth as future leaders in engineering.”

Tsiropoulou encourages her future students to be prepared for a dynamic and engaging learning environment that emphasizes theoretical foundations and practical applications. She also encourages them to think critically and creatively.

“What keeps me engaged in this field is the impact I can have on shaping the future of my brilliant students,” she says. “Their enthusiasm, fresh perspectives and innovative ideas continue to inspire me. It is their passion and potential that make my work incredibly rewarding and fulfilling.”

Tsiropoulou received the National Science Foundation Computer and Information Science and Engineering Research (CRII) Initiation Initiative Award and the National Science Foundation Computer and Information Science and Engineering (CISE) Award. She was named one of the top ten rising stars of 2017 in the communications and networking field by the N2Women, part of the IEEE Communication Society.

Tsiropoulou looks forward to advancing her research, driving impactful industry advancements and contributing to the university’s mission of excellence in engineering education and research.
