Cameron Rennacker

If Cameron Rennacker looks familiar, it’s because his face was recently on a billboard celebrating outstanding spring 2024 graduates. A Sun Devil through and through, Rennacker will be returning to the classroom as an educator.

As a new assistant teaching professor at The Polytechnic School, part of the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University, he will be sharing his expertise ranging from marketing and advertising to graphic design.

Rennacker previously worked as a Senior Lead Instructor at Flatiron School and is excited to become a faculty member in the graphic information technology program due to the impact his professors had on his education.

“I’ve never experienced other instructors who had so much passion for their work and dedication to their student’s success as I have seen in this department,” says Rennacker.

He is committed to following the example that was set for him during his time as a student and wants to add his own spin on ASU and The Polytechnic School’s drive toward innovation.

“Innovation isn’t solely about bringing something new to the table,” says Rennacker. “It’s about altering the way we think, do or interact with something.”

His love for technology and its relationship to design started when Rennacker picked up a camera in high school in yearbook class. He had no idea that there was a path for using the scientific method without taking a traditional science class.

“That was where my love for design, tech and engineering came to be,” says Rennacker.

On the first day of class, students can expect to answer three questions: Why are you here? What do you hope to learn? What is the difference between a designer/engineer and an artist? Rennacker will use the answers to these questions to tailor the material to the students’ needs and experiences.

When he is not sharing his love for design with others, Rennacker loves to travel and photograph national parks. He is proud to have visited 21 of the 63 national parks in the U.S.
