Dinesh Sthapit

Dinesh Sthapit has worked as an electronics and electrical engineer for more than 30 years. The excitement of learning and solving problems has ensured that he enjoyed every moment of it.

Building on experience as a consultant in enterprise content management — a process to improve efficiency for managing content storage — and in industry solving integration and automation challenges, Sthapit is continuing his career as a lecturer in The Polytechnic School, one of the seven schools in the  Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University.

He was drawn to this role by the opportunity to share his experience with students and faculty in the Fulton Schools — and the chance to make a difference.

“The most exciting thing to me about this job is that I am in a position to help,” Sthapit says. 

This fall, Sthapit will help students by teaching courses on the topics of middleware, computer technology, programming, databases, and full-stack and cloud computing. 

He values honesty and a strong work ethic, and he loves keeping busy with things he likes to do. Sthapit’s focus on his engineering passions has led him to earn certifications from Amazon Web Services and Oracle Utilities Meter Solution Cloud Service. Among his proudest achievements is his effort in creating a web print driver for high-volume digital printing being recognized by the Eastman Kodak Company in the late 1990s. 

Before his engineering career, Sthapit was a professional soccer player in his home country of Nepal, where the sport is called “bhakundo.” He also enjoys mountaineering and trekking. Recently, in order to rest up his knees and back, Sthapit has taken up mountain biking.
