Daniel Sepich

Daniel Sepich has loved aviation for as long as he can remember. That lifelong interest took flight during his first training lesson in June 2016, and each step since has reinforced his passion for flying and teaching the next generation of aviation professionals.

Sepich is an assistant teaching professor in the aviation program at The Polytechnic School, part of the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University, but is no stranger as he previously served as an adjunct instructor, where he helped prepare students for careers in the aviation industry. He also brings experience in technology, business management and entrepreneurship, along with a master’s degree in business administration from California State University, San Marcos.

The opportunity to work alongside the aviation faculty and contributing to the program’s continued excellence inspired him to pursue a full-time role. He continues to provide expertise in private, instrument and commercial pilot ground schools, along with air navigation and airline instrument procedures.

As aviation technology continues to evolve, Sepich sees an opportunity to help better prepare students for the industry’s future.

“The challenge I’m most excited to tackle in our program is handling the growth and the need to continually modernize our instruction,” Sepich says. “Technology in aviation is rapidly advancing, and I think it gives me an opportunity to apply my tech background to my aviation instruction.”

In the classroom, Sepich hopes his enthusiasm for aviation inspires students to pursue their own goals with confidence and determination. He believes this helps cultivate excellence, the core value of the Fulton Schools that resonates most with him.

“I hope my passion for aviation rubs off on my students and that drives them to achieve all the success they desire in this industry,” Sepich says.

For Sepich, joining the aviation faculty marks one of the proudest moments of his career. Teaching and aviation have long been his two greatest passions, and bringing them together at ASU represents an opportunity he values deeply.

When he isn’t teaching or flying, he enjoys astrophotography and capturing images of the night sky through his telescopes and cameras. For him, exploring the skies doesn’t end when the airplane lands.
