Tushara Sadasivuni

Tushara Sadasivuni will be joining the School of Computing and Augmented Intelligence, one of the seven Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering, in Spring 2022.

Her career path is following in the footsteps of her father, who was a principal scientist at CSIR, in India, and regional officer All India Council for Technical Education.

“While he talked about his work, I got very interested in learning how problem-solving is hidden behind the scripting languages,” says Sadasivuni. “My curiosity started at a very young age and began with the principle of a working calculator.”

She describes herself as an enthusiastic researcher and says she is looking forward to teaching interactive classes.

“I want to teach interdisciplinary courses to inspire students to pursue research in their field of interest,” she says. “It also gives me a chance to teach students and interns how to change the world into a better place.”

She has been a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers for the past 12 years and served as president of the IEEE chapter and vice president of ACM at Georgia State University, where she is completing her PhD.

As an undergraduate, she served as vice president of the student chapter of the Association for Computing Machinery at Gayatri Vidya Parishad College of Engineering in India.

In her free time, Sadasivuni enjoys traveling, exploring new places, and trying new food, as well as playing video games and watching movies.
