Cory Kehoe

Arizona State University was an easy choice for Arizona native Cory Kehoe. 

Throughout his undergraduate years, Kehoe worked hard to earn an engineering degree — a challenging but ultimately rewarding endeavor.

“Construction engineering is the future of America as we rebuild our infrastructure to meet our population demands,” says Kehoe, who earned a New American University President’s Scholarship and was on the dean’s list.

He advises other engineering students to “put your head down and realize that the hard work you put in now will set you up for success for the rest of your life.”

Beyond engineering, Kehoe has led an active life as a member of the Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps, earning a Naval ROTC Scholarship, and as a member of the ASU Triathlon team.

One of the most memorable experiences was finishing his first 140.6-mile Ironman Triathlon close to ASU’s Tempe campus at Tempe Beach Park.

He also enjoys country dancing, politics and golf.

It’s been rewarding for Kehoe to see the work he’s been able to balance and accomplish at ASU.

“By completing a rigorous engineering curriculum, meeting the military requirements of the Naval ROTC, being on the ASU triathlon team and working both military and civilian jobs in the summers, I feel as though I can handle any challenge life throws my way,” Kehoe says.

After graduation, Kehoe will be commissioning as an officer into the U.S. Navy. Long term, he aspires to a career in the military or public service and looks forward to what the future might bring.

“I see my future as bright with a million unknowns,” Kehoe says. “I almost wish I had a magic ball I could look into to see what life has in store.”
