Seth Gray

Seth Gray knew he wanted to be an entrepreneur. He’s now realizing his dream at Arizona State University. 

Gray arrived at ASU as part of the Western Undergraduate Exchange ready to learn about the technical aspects of product development, but his technological and entrepreneurship management professors have guided him far beyond technical specs. They impart the skills for students to separate themselves from their competitors and how to find their niche in crowded fields. 

Gray found the TMC 320: Funding the Enterprise course to be particularly career-transforming.

“Taking this course really piqued my interest toward venture capital and private equity and helped me discover my passion for helping others grow,” he says.

Although his classwork kept him busy, Gray’s involvement in several on- and off-campus organizations have been an exciting challenge. 

Serving as executive director of the Residence Hall Association and as president of the American Cancer Society at ASU’s Polytechnic campus, he organized the Relay for Life event. Unfortunately, like so many events in Spring 2020, the relay was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Still, he takes away a great experience with a fantastic team. 

Gray also served as chief of staff for the Undergraduate Student Government. 

Ready to make a splash in investment management, Gray is moving to New York with a good friend after graduation. There, he hopes to join a graduate program that will help him earn certifications and licenses for trading securities. 

His long-term goals include earning an MBA and guiding startups as a venture capitalist.
