Impact Award, Fall 2025
Saif Elsaady
For Saif Elsaady, engineering has always been about perseverance.
“Engineering is fun because it’s constantly evolving,” he says. “There’s always something new to learn and endless opportunities to improve every system we design.”
Already an honors graduate with two bachelor’s degrees in electrical systems engineering and data science, Elsaady graduates this December with a master’s degree in electrical engineering from the School of Electrical, Computer and Energy Engineering, part of the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University.
Elsaady will also receive a second master’s degree in computational life sciences from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences as part of the Accelerated Master’s program with his data science degree.
As his time at ASU concludes, Elsaady is most proud of pushing his limits and building a strong network of people he now considers family.
“My degrees empower me to eventually support others who never had the opportunity I did,” he says.
Elsaady highlights his parents and grandparents for their support.
“My family has supported me through every decision I have made, and I am forever thankful,” he says.
During his time at ASU, Elsaady also gained experience in seven internships with industry leaders, including Arm, Intel, Siemens and Honeywell.
“During my Intel internship, I engineered a synthetic data pipeline that generated over 10,000 test graphs to train a neural network to classify SORT data for semiconductors,” he says. “It was amazing to see this project evolve from concept to production, showing how machine learning can transform traditional engineering processes.”
Outside of the classroom, Elsaady coached youth soccer teams with Real Salt Lake-Arizona, where he worked to develop young athletes and foster a positive team environment.
Elsaady is still exploring his next steps for after graduation, but he is certain about one thing: he hopes to become a mentor to the next generation, helping young people navigate their paths and confidently engage with the world.
“Engineering has opened countless doors and opportunities I never imagined, and I now can’t wait for the opportunity to give back,” Elsaady says.
