Aarushi Bharti

Joining the technological entrepreneurship and management degree in the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University was a natural choice for outstanding graduate Aarushi Bharti, who has a knack for leading others and the motivation to make a difference in the world.

Through a wide variety of educational endeavors, extracurricular activities and professional experiences, Bharti made the most of her time at ASU.

“One thing I learned from my experience in the Fulton Schools that I will take with me is that each idea has the potential to become something impactful,” she says.

Leading with the goal of making an impact, Bharti learned as much as she could through various courses in product development, venture funding, supply chain management, operations management, creativity, finance, business law and ethics and more, with the end goal of launching a business.

Outside of the classroom, Bharti took on leadership roles in the Women in Science and Engineering student organization, or WISE, and the Women’s Business Leaders Association. 

As the president of WISE, she organized professional development and self-care events for her members, including a trip to New York City for the Tech Up for Women Conference. Bharti also led the organization of the bi-annual roundtable meetings, a women-in-leadership panel and WISE’s second annual gala.

“My goal in growing WISE on the Polytechnic campus was to impact more students in a positive way,” she says.

To develop her professional skills as a student and harness her ambitions of giving back, Bharti interned at Global Pearls, a nonprofit organization charged with empowering local changemakers in developing countries to make a positive change among marginalized communities. At Global Pearls, she helped manage projects in India, Kenya, Honduras and other locations.

Following graduation, Bharti will take her undergraduate experiences with her to Amazon, where she will take on the role of financial analyst. She eventually wants to launch a company that uses artificial intelligence to impact underserved communities.

“My degree has taught me how to build and launch impactful ventures and products from scratch,” Bharti says. “This will enable me to be a successful changemaker.”
