ASU, TSMC Arizona launch accelerated technician training program
Major semiconductor technology and equipment manufacturer, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, or TSMC is looking to hire more than a hundred equipment technicians by the end of this year to expand operations at its north Phoenix facilities. The company is partnering with ASU to achieve its goal. Through the ASU Foundations for Equipment Technician Program, potential new employees will be educated in subjects that will provide them the knowledge and credentials to qualify for an interview with TSMC for jobs at the company’s three new fabrication operations. Adam Eklund, a senior program manager for the Fulton Schools’ Office of Research, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, says the effort offers promising opportunities for those seeking a faster path into the growing semiconductor industry.
